This is to expedite the attainment of herd immunity among the community. PIKAS is public-private partnership immunisation program aimed at employees of which MITI has been tasked to coordinate the immunisation for employees in the manufacturing sector. Participation of companies and employees in PIKAS is voluntary.

Kulim Hi-Tech Park is the first PPV established under PIKAS programme which has started on 12 July 2021 for Phase 1 and has continued with Phase 2 on 1 September 2021. The vaccine centre (PPV) under PIKAS is located at the KHTP Sports Complex.

The recipients of the vaccine are from the factory and manufacturing sectors as well as vendors / suppliers (supply chain) manufacturers located around Kulim Hi-Tech Park which includes several locations in the state of Kedah.

A total of 33,021 industrial workers have been vaccinated in the PIKAS program under both phases held.

The Phase 1 held on 12 July 2021 until 19 August 2021 was to complete first dose and second dose for participants. It involved 57 industrial companies at KHTP, Kulim Industrial Estate, Padang Meha Industrial Area and Kuala Ketil Industrial Area. Among the giant industries that participated were Intel, Infineon, First Solar, Inokom, Osram, Bard, Richter Rubber and many more.

For Phase 2, 118 companies have registered with a total number of 7,021 participants from the industrial sector. It was held on 1 September 2021 until 29 September 2021 to continue in completing first dose and second dose for participants.  Ansell (Kulim) Sdn. Bhd. is one of the biggest participants in Phase 2.

We believe it is our responsible as the park manager to organize PPV in Kulim Hi-Tech Park, with effort to support and expedite the herd immunity among the Industrial players in Kulim as well as Kedah Darul Aman.
