FERROTEC’S GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR ITS NEW MANUFACTURING SITE IN KULIM HI-TECH PARK, KEDAH, MALAYSIA

The ceremony was officiated by YB Dato’ Wira Dr. Ku Abd Rahman bin Ku Ismail, Senior State Exco of Industrial and Investment, Science, Technology and Innovation and Higher Education. Among VVIP guests attending the ceremony were Ms. Lim Bee Vian, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Investment Development) of MIDA; Mr. Noor Ikhsan Abdul Aziz, Chief Operation Officer of Invest Kedah; YBrs. 9 August, 2022 — Ferrotec Holdings Corporation, headquartered in Tokyo, Japan was founded in 1980 on a technology core of FerroFluid magnetic liquid and is a world leading manufacturer, marketer and distributor of advanced materials, components, and precision system solutions used in a broad array of end products, manufacturing system and industries.

Today, Ferrotec has announced the groundbreaking ceremony to begin construction of its new manufacturing facility in Kulim Hi-Tech Park (KHTP), Kedah. Ferrotec will be investing over RM500 million to build a factory of more than 800, 000 square feet. This will be the biggest greenfield manufacturing site for Ferrotec, outside of China where they have more than 10 million square feet of total manufacturing footprint. Ferrotec will kick off their operation at Industrial Zone Phase 4 (IZP 4) in September 2023. Their investment is expected to initially offer more than 250 high-skilled job opportunities for Malaysian. As Ferrotec is a tier 1 company supplying to MNCs in semiconductor industry, it is committed in providing trainings to Malaysian employees at the factories in Japan and the United States.

The plant which will be undertaking electromechanical assembly and advanced material fabrication for semiconductor equipment fits well within the ecosystem of KHTP and falls under KHTP’s promoted high technology industries.
